Top 5 Restaurants I Visited in 2018

In 2018 one of my resolutions was to not eat out as much as I did in 2017. With that said, the places that I did end up going were very carefully chosen through either Yelp or word of mouth. Here are my top 5 places I ate in 2018.

Rockin’ Baja Lobster
6910, 310 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101

Queso Fundido at Rockin’ Baja Lobster in San Diego, CA

I went to Rockin’ Baja Lobster during the Hot Chocolate Run in March. I don’t know if I was just extremely hungry but the food there was pretty great.

You walk in and it is a typical shoreside bar with great decor and ambiance. There is a Chip & Salsa Bar straight ahead and a great bar right behind that. It is very much Baja California themed.

I definitely recommend the Queso Fundido, that was my favorite.

Gracias Madre
2211 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110

Jackfruit Tacos at Gracias Madre in San Francisco, CA

Gracias Madre was definitely a place that I would have never found if my best friend had not recommended it.

My best friend is a vegan and she lives in the Bay Area, when I visited her back in June we decided to try this place out.

The location was very small, it was one of those places that are long instead of wide. The kitchen was open air meaning you were able to see exactly how your food was made. My favorite item that we tried were the Nachos, just remembering them makes my mouth water. They were made of cashew cheese and I believe Jackfruit Carnitas. So Good.

Taco Man
9617 Central Ave Montclair, CA 91763

Tacos Al Pastor at Taco Man in Montclair, CA

Okay so this is just one of those places that I would go every other Friday because the tacos are just that good.

This place is definitely small and not many people have found out about this gem. If you are going with the tacos definitely do the Al Pastor with the pineapple pieces on top.

My favorite item on the menu is their Bean and Cheese Burrito. This place has the best. Try it.

Dog Haus
7815 Monet Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739

Full meal at Dog Haus in Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Dog Haus is definitely a favorite for my husband and I every time that we go we try something different.

I have been to the one in Pasadena and the one in Rancho Cucamonga and they are both fantastic.

Besides the brats make sure you try the onion rings, they are some of the best onion rings. Do you love tater tots as much as I do? They have tater tots. Try it out for yourself.

Portos Bakery
7640 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA 90620

Every year my work brings Portos during the holidays. I still remember that first year when I tasted the classic Stuffed Potato Ball. The outside is crunchy, the inside is soft and savory filled with picadillo. They have other note worthy pastries like Mango Mousse, Chocolate Mousse, Guayaba Patries and so much more. If you had the opportunity to try it out go out and get some!

So there you have it, my favorite spots that I ate in 2018. Hope you have a wonderful 2019 and keep joining me for more food content.
